Self-reflection

The purpose of this all emerati staff organisation, ZHO focuses on teaching and raising all sort of disabled kids between the ages of 10 to 18, and make them do something and learn stuff even us in schools we may not had that sort of learning, it's like a school, kids show up early in the morning and have different classes depending on the week day, and not just classes also workshops and field trips every now and then, heard they had this trip to the book exhibition later on the week I first went to volunteer, I was actually thrilled to check it out but I didn't get the chance. .

Volunteering can be a big life changing experience to a person depending on how that person live it or also see in it, life lessons if you would rather say. For myself I like to volunteer when I get the chance, but this one was different, I was in class not knowing that we would have to volunteer at some point for this class and so the teacher keeps explaining Maslow's pyramid and then the big news hit my head knowing I had to volunteer, but where. I had to know where and what is the thing that would be related to what we are studying, Before this even started, I didn't deal with people with disabilities not even once, so it was gonna be something new and I even discussed this with my teacher to know if this is what was going to happen, and so the journey started exploring that side for the first time and it wasn't bad, you can never say that you would not learn anything out of a new experience no matter how wrong you're doing it, at least something tiny.

I was volunteering with the staff so basically I was helping the kids and chatting with them about their classes and workshops, I help them and they helped me with telling me what I wanted to know, I even got a tour in the organisation with one of the guys, I couldn't keep up he was fast he had one of those electric wheelchairs, that was fun.

Most important thing I learned in there was how to communicate with the disabled kids and the trick is that it's not weird at all, they are just like you they are human for what you care, they have feelings and thoughts, they feel different they notice when someone act like they are a glitch In Society, what kind of a person you would be by thinking that, you don't want to be that person so why do it.
